In a dark, slimy, underground lair, the evil Grimer works in revitalising Shadow. Shadow is in an incredibly bad state after falling to Mobius from outer space. But, Shadow’s condition gets Grimer scheming and he begins to ponder on what evil contraptions he can add to Shadow.
Meanwhile in the Green Hill Zone, Sonic and the freedom fighters lay back and enjoy the peace while it still lasts. At this time of year the Miracle Planet (otherwise known as Little Planet) becomes visible. Sonic looks into the sky at the amazing, lush, green planet and remember the time Eggman robotisized the entire planet. But now that Eggman has gone they can all rest in harmony, or so they think…
Back in Grimer’s lair, he cackles over his “creation”. Shadow has been recuperated but Grimer has added a mind control device to him so Shadow appears confused. Shadow has now been equipped with a bionic arm which can transform into many weapons. He also has a robotic eye which can be used for x-ray vision and targeting when he needs to use a weapon. The mind control system poisons Shadow’s mind with evil thoughts but Shadow’s mind is not a weak one. Shadow twitches uncontrollably and sparks fly off him. Grimer screams in disbelief as he watches his creation gain self awareness. Shadow rips the mind control system off his head! Grimer starts to slow move away but Shadow sees Grimer trying to get away. Shadow grabs Grimer by the neck and his bionic arm transforms into a giant blade. Shadow decapitates Grimer… “Must… destroy… Son… ic…” are Shadow’s last words as he bursts out of Grimer’s lair and flies towards the Miracle Planet.
